I’ve gone to do baptisms at the temple since I was in
college and got a recommend. I had never really wanted to go through the temple
and receive my endowments, but one Saturday as I stood in the temple, I knew it
was what I needed to do. My roommates
were all coming for our roommate reunion and I asked them if they cared if
during our reunion, we went to the temple.
Of course since they had been wanting me to do it forever, they were all
super excited. So the month before I was
set to go to the temple, our ward had a baptism trip to the temple. It seemed perfectly normal to me, that the
last time I did baptisms before going through the temple would be a big
deal. I asked Will if he would come to
baptize me for the last time (even though technically it wouldn’t be my last
time). Will and I actually met at the
temple during a ward trip to go do baptisms, so I found it more than fitting
that I would want him there with me. I
was extremely grateful that Will and Emily took time out of their busy Saturday
to come to the temple with me, for the last time I would do baptisms, an event I
totally made up and that no one else would even recognize! In fact, people in the temple didn’t understand
why or what I was wanting done. But it was
a big deal to me and I’m grateful for friends who support me, even when its
completely nonsensical. They are the
best!
